Double Monkey Grind
Best aspect of windsurfing?
Speed.
How did you get to where you are today?
My dad taught me to sail when I was 12, we went to Lake Garda a few times and I got the bug. I taught windsurfing in France for 3 seasons. I then decided to
focus on my own sailing instead of other peoples.
What are your favourite conditions, and what kit would you be using?
Flat water, 30 knots, 6.0, speed needle.
Has windsurfing affected your life, how different would it be without it?
I am fortunate that I can mix my day time job (sales manger at Kangaroo Poo) with windsurfing. We are keen to move our brand into the windsurf scene.
Where would you like to see windsurfing in the future?
Accessible to all. Purpose built speed strips in the North West, would be nice.
Who/what inspires you?
I learn some thing new every time a go out. The sport keeps me inspired.
Things that annoy you?
People on old kit, that won’t try any thing new???
Where is the best place you have been and why?
I have had some amazing days at lake garda in Italy. My favourite spot has to be Weymouth.
What are your top tips to get out more and get the most from your time on the water?
Get a job like mine, and always try stuff outside your comfort zone.
